MIG welding has grown in popularity in recent years, thanks to the speed and ease of use that it presents to users. There has been a surge in amateurs trying their hand at this particular type of welding, whilst the technique is still used across a number of professional industries too.
MIG welding gas is obviously a necessity and plays a key role in ensuring each weld comes out with a high-quality finish, and here at Bottle Gases, we are proud to provide a wide range of CO2 and Argon gas suitable for your MIG welding needs.
Specialist MIG Welding Gas Suppliers
As a vastly experienced provider of MIG welding gas, we have fine-tuned our offering to include a wide range of products suitable for all of your requirements. We have a huge selection of MIG welding gas on offer, from as little as 2L cylinders for easy portability right up to 50L for businesses that require large amounts of Argon gas.
MIG Welding Gas Mixes
We have a range of CO2 and Argon gas mixes which are suitable for use in MIG welding for welding metals of varying thickness. Using Argon gas with small amounts of CO2 helps to stabilise the welding arc allowing for neater and soft welds. We stock the following mixes.
Suitable for MIG welding, 2% CO2 and Argon mix is ideal if you are focusing on weld quality and appearance. It also reduces post weld clean up with puddle control and a more reduced spatter than C02 in its pure form.
This is suitable for welding steel up to thickness of 6mm. Again it provides a desirable arc stability for a very clean weld. This MIG welding gas is useful for fillet and butt welds. both the 2% and the 5% CO2 mixes are recommended for highly specialized welding applications.
Experienced MIG welders will recommend a mix of between 75-95% argon and 25-5% CO2 mix, depending on your steel thickness. This mix is suitable for welding steel thickness of between 4mm – 10mm. This mix will give a very stable welding arc.
Our 20% CO2 and argon mix offers strong arc stability and is mostly suitable for welding steel thickness between 6mm – 12mm. This mix is beneficial for arc stability but can have more of a spatter due to the higher level of CO2 in the mix, this can be helped with wire speed.
We also have a wide range of cylinder sizes that contain 99.9% CO2 welding gas, which are a cost effective MIG welding gas option.
MIG Weld Aluminium with One of Our Pure Argon Cylinders
We also offer pure argon as a MIG welding gas option which is best used when welding aluminium or for MIG brazing copper. It can be used as a last resort when welding steel but often the weld quality will be much lower than when using a mixed gas cylinder of CO2 and Argon. We have a wide range or 100% Argon cylinders which are also suitable as TIG welding gas.
